From the Writer

When my daughter, Katy, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, it hit my family hard. We could not see beyond the doom and gloom which had engulfed our lives. However, we soon realized that you can either sit back and except the inevitable or you can do something positive about the circumstances you find yourself in!  Writing plays to raise money for MS research was my way of dealing with Katy’s illness. Not only had it given me a new interest in life but I was now starting to travel around the country, to watch my plays, visiting places I would never have seen. My trip to your beautiful part of the coast line was something I would never have done. Over and above this I now get to meet lots of interesting, lovely people who have gone to great lengths to stage one of my plays. I had a wonderful time when I came and watched your production of ‘Love Begins at Fifty.’ So, sometimes in life you can get to turn things around and hopefully make the situation which has been forced upon you not as bleak as you at first thought!     

The good news is that Katy keeps well and thanks to fantastic groups like yours the royalty money raised for MS brings the day ever closer when a cure will be found. Hope to see you all again one day. Best of luck with your production of ‘Sleeping Beauty.’
